This tapered jaw FINOX cuticle nipper by GERmanikure blends innovative design with modern high carbon stainless steel to make a cuticle nipper that will last. It is hand sharpened to a 3mm precise edge and has several design features to extend its life and reduce the frequency of resharpenings needed. The nearly frictionless beveled joint the crush stoppers open design and extra hard steel all add up to a tool that is definitely not your ordinary cuticle nipper.
High Carbon Stainless Steel
Raw high carbon stainless steel (surgical steel) is imported in bulk from Sweden specifically for use in GERmanikure's FINOX line no other steel met GERmanikure's requirements for consistency hardness and durability. This rustproof steel is much harder than other types which mean the blade edges stay sharp longer.
Three Jaw Shapes
The GERmanikure Pro line has three shapes to choose from: standard tapered and tower point. Each tip is designed for a specific purpose. Choose the standard jaw shape for a less aggressive point and more forgiving blade angle that is well suited to a majority of nail shapes. Choose the tapered jaw shape for a more aggressive cut and a steeper angle on the cutting edge. Tapered will more easily fit smaller narrower hard to reach areas. Choose the tower point jaw shape for the most narrow blade and thinnest tip to reach areas that are impossible to reach otherwise.
Three Jaw Lengths
Each jaw shape is available in three different jaw lengths: 3 5 and 7mm. 5mm is industry standard and if you don't know what to get this is a size well suited for a variety of nails and nail beds. The smaller 3mm jaw is good to keep on hand for occasional use on smaller hands or in tighter areas where the nail bed bends steeply into the flesh. 7mm jaw lengths have added length that means it lasts through more full resharpenings so it has a nice long usable life without being unwieldy to use. This jaw length lasts the longest because the added material allows more full resharpenings than other lengths but it can sometimes be difficult to use on small fingers or tiny toes.
Cutting not pinching
Hold this cuticle nipper up to the light without squeezing and you'll see a very fine gap between the blades. This is not a defect. Every GERmanikure nipper is sharpened manually with a file (not a grinder) by Solingen artisans specifically to have a hairsbreadth gap between the blades. As pressure is gently applied this gap disappears and it is this gap-closing action that allows the tool to cut the cuticle tissue cleanly from one side to the other not pinch and tear.
Open Design
The open joint style minimizes crevices where bacteria and debris may accumulate over time. This type of joint also allows access for easy cleaning and lubrication which helps make professional sterilization practices such as a high heat or steam autoclave more efficient.
Beveled Joint
Open these nippers even a little and it is easy to see a beveled "platform" area around the joint. This special beveled area reduces the frictionable surface area of the joint so that wear and tear is minimal. When combined with a frictionless double spring the movement is super smooth and will stay that way for years.
Protective Case
Even though this innovative cuticle nipper is crafted of the finest modern materials and designed to last for decades it comes complete with a custom fitted leather case to protect it even further. Leather is naturally cushioning and dehumidifying. The case will prevent damage to the cutting edges when the nipper is not in use as well as help wick away any condensation that may accumulate on the cool steel.

the standard has changed
"while these are extremely high quality with flawless hand held design, i believe the design is so different from most others (cheaper ones), the most consumers gravitate to the market where the jaws meet together entirely. saying i don’t aspire to use this design is meant only to pint out that even if these nippers are the proper design most users have grown accustomed to the least expensive ones. love the blades and handles and the little case. i’ve been using nippers for yrs and have purchased these many yrs ago, which jogs my memory - back then i also added a knock off due to the same issue, the concept was a difficult learning curve for me. i still cherish the little leather cover that came w them, that’s a treasure."

"Wow.. what an excellent trimmer. I have used many nipper before, but I find this one to be one of the best ones that I have used. Reason for that is because of how sharp it is, how amazingly comfortable it feels in your hand, and how easily it trims. The material used is truly strong and premium. 3/4 Jaw
"I own the 1/12 jaw cuticle nippers and love them and wanted another pair and this time around ordered the 3/4 jaw. The two arm springs (not sure what they are called) did not line up and therefore, the nippers did not work. Sent them back and received another pair and these had same problem so back they went. Where is the quality control in their manufacturing??? These are super expensive but if they worked they would be well worth the money. I just ordered another 1/2 jaw and am praying I don't have the same problem."
