Not worth the trouble...

Honestly, I wanted to love this clipper. But in using it over the past couple of years, I've learned to hate it. In short, the magnet on the back seems like a great idea, but over the years, I've had both the large and small clippers LOCK with the magnet intermittently while using them. The clippers usually lock right as your clipping a nail, essentially bolting them to your nail during use. This has happened enough times that I've taken metal chisel and chopped off the rear swiveling magnet entirely.

Received these clippers about two weeks ago. Right out of the box I ran into a problem. The magnet that keeps the handle closed is so loose that it flips back and forth constantly and gets in the way of making a cut. I took a hammer and a punch and tapped the rivet tighter. Now the magnet devise doesnt work but I can get clip my nails.

Very Good Clipper with Oversized Jaws

This is an unusual looking finger- or toenail clipper that is especially good for men as well as women, due to its large size & very wide-opening jaws. It is well-designed & interesting looking. It could have been quite heavy, based on its size, but the open design cuts down on its weight (it weighs 1.5 ounces, & is quite sturdy). It has a magnet in the rear that locks the device when the clip bar is pressed against it, & the magnet is very high quality & has a strong grip (it actually works in reality, not just in theory!). Although this clipper is not as sharp as the Dovo I bought at the same time, it is only half the price (when on sale), & is sharp enough to do the job. But what makes this clipper truly unique, is that it's the only clipper I've seen (not counting scissors style clippers), that is able to cut ALL nails regardless of thickness or curvature, & that is due to the very wide opening of the jaws. For sharpness, I'd give it 4*, but for being unique in its class, & for being exceptionally well-designed & functional, I give it 5* overall. Due to the open design, no nail file is included on the clipper, but it's sharp enough that nail filing is not needed, except for shaping purposes.
